Cavaliers vs. Nets prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (How to bet total)
By Peter Dewey
The Brooklyn Nets had two first-round picks in the 2023 NBA Draft, and both will get a chance to showcase their talent in the Las Vegas Summer League on Friday night.
Noah Clowney, Dariq Miller-Whitehead and second-round pick Jalen Wilson will all suit up for the Nets against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs have Isaiah Mobley, Sam Merrill and Emoni Bates (their second-round pick this offseason) leading the way for their Summer League roster.
Will Bates – a former top recruit in high school – show that he can play at the NBA level?
Let’s dive into the odds and my best bet with the Cavaliers set as slight underdogs:
Cavaliers vs. Nets odds, spread and total
Spread
- Cavs +1.5 (-110)
- Nets -1.5 (-110)
Moneyline
- Cavs: +105
- Nets: -125
Total
- 181.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Cavaliers vs. Nets prediction and pick
There are a few games on the slate tonight where there is a ton of young NBA talent or former NBA players in action, but this isn’t exactly one of them.
There is a grand total of zero former lottery picks in this matchup, and I’m not sold on there being a ton of points scored.
A total at 181.5 means were looking at a game potentially in the 90s, which isn’t a guarantee with these Summer League matchups, especially without a ton of offensive talent.
Until we see some of these undrafted free agents perform, I’ll ride with the UNDER in this matchup.
Pick: UNDER 181.5 (-110)
