Cavaliers vs. Pistons Prediction and Odds (Fade Cavs With Darius Garland, Caris LeVert Out)
By Peter Dewey
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be down two key players on Thursday night when they face the Detroit Pistons, as Caris LeVert (foot) and Darius Garland (back) both won’t suit up.
That’s a major blow for Cleveland, as LeVert and Garland are two of the team’s best scorers and main ball-handlers, but the oddsmakers at WynnBET don’t believe in the lowly Pistons to take advantage.
Here are the odds for this game:
Cavaliers vs. Pistons Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Cavaliers -7 (-110)
- Pistons +7 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Cavaliers: -300
- Pistons: +240
Total:
- 209.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Cavaliers vs. Pistons Prediction and Pick
If there is ever a time to back the Detroit Pistons, it probably is when they are a home underdog, as the Pistons are 12-12 against the spread in that spot this season and just 27-31 ATS overall.
The Cavaliers have been impressive this season, but their ATS record has slipped as of late with oddsmakers adjusting to them truly being a playoff team. The Cavs also lack ball-handling behind Garland and LeVert, hence their 6-5 record when Garland is out of the lineup this season.
The Pistons are a poor offensive team, ranking 29th in the league in offensive rating, but I think they’ll be able to keep things close with the Cavaliers down two top scorers. Cleveland is only 19th in offensive rating this season overall.
Lean: Pistons +7 (-110)
