The Chances Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams Teaming Up on Broncos in 2022 are Close to Zero

One of my favorite parts of the playoffs in any major sport is the rumor mill swirling around teams who have already been eliminated. One of the most popular topics of conversation in the industry since the Divisional Round has to what the future holds for Aaron Rodgers. The future Hall-of-Fame QB had another MVP quality year and failed to lead his team to the Super Bowl. On top of the on-field failures, there has been bad blood between Rodgers and the Packers for some time now. Personally, I am surprised he even suited up for the Packers this season. But now, another year removed from their 2011 win in Super Bowl 45, Rodgers and Green Bay are closer than they have ever been to parting ways.

This begs the question. Where will Rodgers end his career? It is possible he just hangs em’ up after 16 seasons, a Super Bowl win, and three MVP awards? Well, according to the man himself, we will have his answer before the franchise tag deadline on March 16th. Rodgers said that he wanted to not only respect the franchise, but also Davante Adams.

If he does move on from the Packers, where does he end up? Well, the early rumor mill has him heading to the Broncos to team up with Jerry Jeudy in the Mile High City. However, Rodgers’ name isn’t the only one attached to the Broncos right now. His long-time teammate and friend Adams might be part of a combo package if the Packers wanted to make a deal.

According to Jordan Schultz, the relationship between the Packers is also severed when it comes to Adams. Apparently, the wideout is fed up with the team’s treatment of Rodgers among other gripes.

The Broncos are one of the only teams in the NFL that would have the cap space and talent to trade for the pair of superstars. This would likely require the Broncos to give up a first-round pick along with Jeudy. Making things even more unlikely is the fact that the Packers are likely to use their franchise tag on Adams. If they do this, Adams won’t be signing anywhere else this offseason. However, if Rodgers decides to move on, I think the Packers would be better off moving on from Adams as well and start a ground-up rebuild. Jeudy would be a good first piece to that puzzle.

If this unlikely deal goes through, the pair would instantly become one of the more dangerous duos in the AFC. But, at Rodgers’ advanced age, I wonder if the Broncos would be better served to continue to build around what they already have and not lose an asset like Jeudy. Either way, as usual, we’re all waiting on Rodgers to make his decision.
