Chargers vs. Chiefs Best Anytime TD Scorer Prop Picks for Thursday Night Football
By Peter Dewey
If there’s one thing we can expect in the Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Chargers matchup on Thursday Night Football, it’s points between these two elite offenses.
The total in this game at FanDuel is set at 54.5 points, and it makes sense, especially since Patrick Mahomes threw for five touchdowns for Kansas City in Week 1.
While the Chargers are expected to be without wide receiver Keenan Allen, we can expect these two offenses to trade blows all night with first place in the AFC West on the line.
Here are some touchdown scorer props to consider in this Week 2 showdown:
Best Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks for Chargers vs. Chiefs
- Mike Williams (+155)
- DeAndre Carter (+400)
- JuJu Smith-Schuster (+145)
Mike Williams (+155)
It was shocking to see Mike Williams get just two catches in Week 1 even with Allen hurt, so I’m expecting a big bounce-back game from the Chargers’ top red-zone threat.
Williams had nine scores last season, and he had a two-touchdown game against Kansas City early in the season. Chiefs 2022 first-round pick Tren McDuffie, one of their top cornerbacks, was just placed on injured reserve, so there may be mismatches for Williams in this game.
Out of all of the top players in this game, Williams’ odds are the most intriguing.
DeAndre Carter (+400)
DeAndre Carter had a big game in Week 1, finishing with three catches for 64 yards and a score on four targets.
He could be the beneficiary with Allen out, as Carter and Josh Palmer are going to see an increase in targets.
It was Carter who outplayed him in Week 1, outgaining Palmer 64-5 through the air. However, Palmer’s odds to score a touchdown are at +220 at FanDuel, so we’re getting much better value on Carter, who made the most of his chances in Week 1.
JuJu Smith-Schuster (+145)
Yes, JuJu lost a fumble in Week 1, but the Chiefs new receiver showed that he can be a dynamic weapon as well.
Smith-Schuster was targeted eight times against the Arizona Cardinals, making six catches for 79 yards and playing 66 percent of the snaps.
Only Travis Kelce had more targets than Smith-Schuster, and Mecole Hardman was the only other player with over four targets. JuJu looks like the top option outside for KC, so why not bet on him at plus money over Kelce at -145?
