Chargers vs. Chiefs Best Parlay Picks for Thursday Night Football

It seemed like just yesterday it was the middle of July and we were begging for football.

Now, here we are about to start Week 2 of the NFL season. It truly brings a tear to my eye.

To celebrate, let's dabble on a little same game parlay for tonight's Thursday Night Football game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas Chiefs.

Here's my favorite same game parlay, with the odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook:

Thursday Night Football Parlay

  • Alternate Total Over 49.5
  • Alternate Chargers Spread +7.5
  • Austin Ekeler OVER 53.5 Rushing Yards
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster Anytime TD

Alternate Total Over 49.5

We're going to take the over, but we're going to reduce the point total down to 49.5. That way, we just need a nice and even 50 points. I would be shocked if this isn't some sort of offensive shootout. The Chiefs offense looked fantastic in the opening week, and it turned out being the best offensive performance amongst all teams in the opening week.

The Chargers offense also looked good, and now it has a chance to take shots at a defense that ranked in the bottom five in 2021.

Alternate Chargers Spread +7.5

Just like we're going to move the point total, we're also going to move the spread. We're crossing the key number of seven, so as long as the Chargers can keep it within a touchdown, we'll be golden.

The Chargers are 2-2 against the Chiefs the past two years, and both losses came in OT. If this game goes to overtime as well, this portion of the parlay will be cashed.

Austin Ekeler OVER 53.5 Rushing Yards

Austin Ekeler only gained 36 yards on 14 carries in Week 1, but I expect a bounce back performance from against the Chiefs. He averaged 56.9 yards per game last season, and he surpassed this total in both games against Kansas City in 2021.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Anytime TD

JuJu Smith-Schuster received eight targets targets and hauled in six catches for 29 yards in the Chiefs opening game against the Cardinals. If he is going to emerge as the Chiefs top target at wideout, it's only a matter of time until he finds the end zone. We'll toss this is as the cherry on top of of our parlay.
