Chargers vs. Falcons Prediction: Herbert To Lead Chargers To Win Following Bye Week

The Atlanta Falcons are currently in first place in the NFC South. They’ll put that shocking title on the line this week against the rested Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams have four wins and are hoping to start building towards a playoff run.

The Chargers are 4th in passing yards per game on the season. However, in the last three games, they've dropped to 10th. Los Angeles might be without Keenan Allen this week, putting a lot of pressure on the younger pass catchers to step up and help Justin Herbert out.

Will the Chargers be able to rebound from their loss to the Seahawks, or will the Falcons revel in their newly divisional leader status?

With a week off to reflect on their loss to the Seahawks, I like the Chargers to bounce back here. Atlanta has looked off in consecutive weeks, failing to cover in back-to-back games. It seems like our luck with betting on the Falcons on the spread has run out. 

The Falcons, however, do have an advantage in this game. They run the ball at the second-highest rate in the league. Los Angeles is dead last in opponent yards per carry. If the Falcons can find a way to be efficient in their running game, they can keep it close. 

Still, the Chargers are the better team and have more talent on the outside, which is why I’m going to back them. Los Angeles is 3-1 ATS in its wins. When the Chargers win, they’ve done it well. 

The Falcons will have to show me they are once again worthy to back against the spread before I trust them again.
