The Formula 1 season is in full swing, and the top two drivers of the year have already been established.

Last year, it was Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen who battled it out all year with Verstappen securing his first Drivers Championship in the final race. This season, Verstappen has a new top opponent, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

Leclerc sits stop the standings with 86 points, and Verstappen is in second with 59 points. Despite the advantage in Leclerc's favor, the odds for who will win are set at a pick'em.

Let's take a look at the top 6 odds via WynnBET.

Verstappen Gained Ground on Leclerc at Emilia Romagna GP

Leclerc saw his lead on the field cut significantly this past weekend when he finished in sixth place and Verstappen won.

Leclerc was comfortably in third place, but got aggressive on a turn when trying to pass Sergio Perez. His car spun out, and crashed against the walls with 10 laps to go. Despite the damage, he was able to recover to sixth place after dropping as low as ninth.

"I believe the spin shouldn't have happened today," Leclerc told Sky Sports F1.

"P3 was the best I could do... we didn't have the pace for much more and I was too greedy, and I paid the price for it and lost seven potential points compared to my third place. It is a shame. They are seven points that are valuable at the end of the championship for sure, and this shouldn't happen again."

It was a mistake that you might expect from a driver who is contention for the Drivers Championship for the first time in his young career.

Red Bull looked fantastic in the race, and their early-season troubles with their cars may have been fixed. If they were, expect Verstappen to overtake Leclerc for the points lead sooner rather than later.

The next race is the debut of the Miami Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday, May 8th.
