Charleston vs Hofstra Prediction and Odds (Back Cougars in Offensive Showcase)
By Joe Summers
In a rematch of a 76-73 road win for Hofstra, the 20-10 Pride hope for a season-sweep when they host the 16-13 College of Charleston Cougars tonight at 7:00 PM EST.
The Cougars have covered the spread in four consecutive games while Hofstra has failed to cover in three straight. Will the Pride win their eighth contest in their last nine in convincing fashion, or will Charleston prove to be a pesky underdog?
Here are the odds via WynnBET:

College of Charleston vs Hofstra Prediction and Pick
Charleston as an underdog is almost an auto-bet. They're 9-3-1 against the spread (ATS) as an underdog this year and 7-2 as a road underdog. With the fastest adjusted tempo in all of college basketball and the 12th-highest offensive rebounding rate, they get a ton of shots up and make teams uncomfortable by playing at such a frenetic pace.
The over is 17-12 in the Cougars games, including 8-2 when they're a road underdog.
Hofstra is content to play quickly as well, as the over is 8-2 when they're at home and 16-11 in their contests overall. They boast the 42nd-highest effective field goal percentage thanks to the 19th-best 2-point offense in the country, but 338th-ranked 3-point defense means teams get plenty of open looks from deep.
The Cougars shot just 9/35 from beyond the arc in the first matchup and still only lost by three, so I like their chances against a Pride team that struggles at home. Hofstra has failed to cover the spread in seven straight at home and are stumbling. This sets up as a great matchup for Charleston to build off the 14 offensive rebounds they generated the first time and take advantage of those extra looks.
I'm riding with the Cougars to continue their impressive play as an underdog in a high-scoring matchup. We should see positive shooting regression and the high-total doesn't scare me away.
Pick: College of Charleston +5.5 (-110) and over 159.5 (-110)
