Chattanooga vs. Belmont Prediction and Odds: Expect a Tight Game from Two Streaking Teams
By Matt De Saro
Wednesday night college basketball tips off with a stellar matchup between two streaking teams. The Chattanooga Mocs enter Wednesday with a 9-1 record having won four in a row. Their last game was a 78-73 victory over the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. The Mocs offense has been on fire and is outscoring opponents by an average of 20 points per game. So, not only are they winning but they are winning decisively. Despite this, they are covering just 62.5 percent of their games thus far.
The Belmont Bruins, meanwhile, are riding a three-game win streak after a tight 64-59 win over Saint Louis on the road. The Bruins are now 8-3 after eking out a win after a slow start against STL. With both teams playing with a hot hand, who is able to keep their streak alive tonight? Here are the odds for this matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Chattanooga vs. Belmont Prediction and Pick
Chattanooga has looked like the more dominant team this season and is led by the three-headed dragon of Malachi Smith, David Jean-Baptise, and Silvio De Sousa. Both Smith and De Sousa have multiple 20-point games so far this season. The rest of the team is a good group of complementary players who can really shoot the lights out. The team overall ranks inside the Top-100 in shooting from the field and from deep. Their defense is nothing to gloss over eighter and are holding opponents to just 61.9 points per game and are particularly adept at defending the perimeter.
BelmontanBelmont has the advantage of a team full of seniors who have played together for years. The trio of Nick Muszynski, Grayson Murphy, and Luke Smith account for nearly half of the teams’ overall scoring this season. Where things begin to fall apart is on defense and they are allowing teams to score an average of 70.8 points per game with a FG average of 43 percent.
Because of these issues on defense, I feel confident in taking the Mocs tonight. I would have preferred to get them at the opening line closer to +7 but I think there is still plenty of value to be had here. The over is worth a look here too with a pair of teams that can shoot the lights out.
Pick: Chattanooga +5.5 (-115)
