Chelsea vs. Brighton Prediction and Odds (Back the Under at Stamford Bridge)
By Matt De Saro
English Premier League action continues on Wednesday with a match between Chelsea and Brighton.
Brighton will be on the road at Stamford Bridge hoping to hand Chelsea their first loss in their last four games. Chelsea is coming off a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday in their last game out. The game was a lot closer than the final score suggests, however.
Chelsea was able to secure a win thanks to two penalty shots which Jorginho converted. The 30-year-old broke the EPL record for most penalties scored in a single calendar year after going 10-for-10 in 2021.
Brighton is also coming off a win after beating Brentford 2-0 in the league. Leandro Trossard and Neal Maupay scored the only two goals that Graham Potter’s team needed to secure a 'W.'

Chelsea vs. Brighton Prediction and Pick
While Chelsea is currently the third-ranked team in the EPL table, they have struggled recently and are in danger of falling off the pace. They are six points back from Manchester City and need to pick up the pace to catch them and second-place Liverpool.
If these two teams’ historic records are anything to go off of, Chelsea should cruise to a win here. Chelsea has not lost to Brighton since 2018 and is beating them 67% of the time. The Seagulls have managed just three goals in those games while the Blues scored 11. The last time these two teams met was Match Day 32 in March. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
I think this game ends in a similar way to that last game in March. While Chelsea should win, there is no value on them here. I don’t expect them to cruise to a win here and don’t expect too many goals either. The Seagulls are a strong defensive team and have already shut out Chelsea in 2021.
Pick: Chelsea and Brighton UNDER 2.5 Goals (-105)
