The Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals could end up being the most competitive game in Week 17. With the playoffs right around the corner, both these two teams are in the hunt for an AFC Championship and possibly a trip to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs remain the only team to clinch their division and a playoff spot in the AFC so far. The Bengals are No. 3 in the playoff standings right now and have a good shot to take over the No. 2 spot from the Titans before the end of the regular season. This could be a preview of a rematch during the playoffs if Cincinnati doesn’t fall apart from now until then.

Kansas City has been on a tear since struggling in the first half of the season. They've won eight games in a row; beating teams such as the Cowboys, Packers, and Steelers along the way. This week they have to contend with an offense led by Joe Burrow coming off his best game as a professional in a dominant win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Chiefs vs. Bengals Prediction and Pick

For a team that started the season 2-3, the Chiefs have come a long way to claim the division over the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders. They have yet to regain the dominance that has sent them on playoffs runs the last few years, but are still scoring 28.1 PPG and rank in the top-5. They lead the NFL in third-down conversion percentage and are third in yards per game at 396.1.

While their offense has turned things around, their defense went from very suspect to a top squad as well. They are fifth in the NFL in terms of scoring and allow teams just 20.4 PPG. They still give up a lot of yards at 362.1 per game, but their red zone defense is above average and has done well to keep other teams off the board.

On the other side, Burrow became the first 500-yard passer in franchise history last weekend when the Bengals' offense went ham on the Ravens. By the final whistle, Burrow had 525 yards and four touchdowns. Even with several Ravens starting defenders out, it was a very impressive performance.

The game was epic in terms of sheer offense from the Bengals, but they have been very inconsistent lately. In weeks prior the offense has played sloppy football and didn’t look like a team that could hang with the Chiefs. I think this line might be a bit of an overreaction to Burrow’s recent torching of a depleted Ravens’ secondary.

The Chiefs' defense is much-improved and will not be soft in the secondary. They're still fighting to remain the No. 1 seed and earn a first-round bye so they will be highly motivated despite already clinching the division.

Pick: Kansas City Chiefs -5 (-110)
