Chiefs vs Bills Prediction

Death, taxes, and Patrick Mahomes playing in the AFC Championship game. In his three seasons as the starting quarterback of the Chiefs, he's made three straight AFC title game. Now he'll get a chance to punch his ticket to a fourth straight and enact revenge on a Bills team that stomped Mahomes' Chiefs 38-20 in Week 5.

Both the Chiefs and Bills looked downright dominant in the Wild Card Round, with the Chiefs blowing out the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-21 and the Bills destroying the New England Patriots 47-17. Mahomes and Bills quarterback Josh Allen both threw for 5 touchdowns and looked like they lead the two best teams in the AFC.

While the Bills looked like the better team for most of the regular season, they stumbled down the stretch while the Chiefs won 9 of their final 10 games and once again looked like the class of the conference.

It may be tempting to side with the Bills given their demolition of Kansas City early in the season, but this is a different Chiefs team. The Bills frustrated Mahomes in that matchup by playing two high safeties and forcing the Chiefs to slowly move down the field, something the explosive Kansas City offense was not used to doing.

After seeing that same high safety look many times throughout the rest of the regular season, Mahomes and the Chiefs are much more prepared to exploit it. Mahomes is more comfortable now, and secondary options like Mecole Hardman and Byron Pringle were forced into action because of injuries to Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, giving the Chiefs' extra weapons time to acclimate to the offense.

Mahomes has also looked like his old self recently, which wasn't the case early in the year. He threw 9 interceptions with just 13 touchdowns a six-week stretch from Week 3 to Week 8 (which included that first Bills matchup). Across his last six games, however, he's thrown just 2 picks with 17 touchdowns.

It's possible the Bills frustrate Mahomes and the Chiefs again. However, just like I won't bet against death or taxes until I see them not happen, I won't bet against Mahomes, Andy Reid and the Chiefs making the AFC Championship game. The Chiefs -2.5 (-110) is my best bet. Death, taxes, and Patrick Mahomes.

Of course, the best odds are +8000. Don’t forget to claim your offer now. Bet $5, Win $400 by signing up for WynnBET now!
