Matteo Berrettini and Christian Garin are set to face off in the first round of Wimbledon action on Tuesday in London.

This will be the fourth time the pair go head to head in the ATP with Berrettini holding a 2-1 lead. However, this is the first time the pair will play on grass and that could change things. On the other hand, it might just make Berrettini a heavier favorite. Let’s review and break down the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook for this opening-round match.

Christian Garin vs. Matteo Berrettini Odds, Spread, Total

Spread:

  • Garin : +7.5 (-110)
  • Berrettini : -7.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Garin : +1350
  • Berrettini : -5000

Total: 31.5 (Over +100/Under -120)

Christian Garin vs. Matteo Berrettini Prediction and Pick

As I mentioned above, this is the first game between the two to take place on grass. This is a huge deal for Matteo Berrettini particularly because Garin is 0-2 on the grass in 2022. Meanwhile, Berrettini is a perfect 9-0 on grass this year. The No. 11 ranked player in the world has been dominant on grass for his entire career with a 36-7 record since 2014. Garin, on the other hand, is 11-8 on the stuff since 2012.

While that would be enough for me to avoid Garin here, there is more. Garin was ranked as high as 17th at one point but has had an awful season. After going just 12-15 overall so far this season, Garin’s stock plummeted and he fell to 43rd in the world.

Had this game been on a different surface, maybe I would have taken a chance on Garin to cover. But Berrettini is on another level when it comes to grass games and I don’t foresee Garin putting up too much of a fight in this match.

Pick: Berrettini -7.5 Games (-110)
