The Arizona Cardinals’ receiving corps behind DeAndre Hopkins this season has been impossible to figure out.

One week, Christian Kirk is going off for seven catches and 104 yards, the next he’s targeted just one time.

Veteran A.J. Green has been the most consistent of the bunch in terms of his role, seeing six targets in each game this season, but he has yet to post a big game like Kirk (five catches, 70 yards two scores in Week 1) and Rondale Moore (seven catches, 114 yards, touchdown in Week 2) have.

Arizona has an embarrassment of riches on offense, and it’s a big reason why Kyler Murray is the co-favorite for MVP. The only undefeated team in the NFL is going to stick with what is working, and the past two weeks that has been with Moore making just five catches on five targets.

Here’s how this receiving group stacks up this season:

Rondale Moore-A.J. Green-Christian Kirk Stat Comparison

Targets:

  • Moore: 18
  • Green: 24
  • Kirk: 18

Receptions:

  • Moore: 16
  • Green: 15
  • Kirk: 16

Receiving Yards:

  • Moore: 211
  • Green: 248
  • Kirk: 244

Touchdowns:

  • Moore: 1
  • Green: 2
  • Kirk: 2

Despite seeing six more targets on the year, Green still has less catches than Kirk and Moore. The difference is that Green is playing 82.18 percent of Arizona’s offensive snaps while Kirk (62.18 percent) and Moore (37.82 percent) are seeing far less time.

So will this change against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5? Arizona is a 5.5-point favorite at home at WynnBET Sportsbook, and it will need its high-powered attack to beat a tough 49ers defense.

Right now, I’d trust Green over Kirk and Moore in any receiving yards props. Green has been by far the most consistent player (at least two catches in every game, three straight with 44 or more yards) and he’s getting the most opportunities.

Kliff Kingsbury clearly trusts the veteran, and it has worked for Arizona’s offense. Moore and Kirk can be matchup nightmares for teams at times, but they also have inconsistent roles in the offense. Kirk’s appears to be more set in stone than Moore’s and both are solid big-play threats.

Depending on their odds to score a touchdown against the 49ers, there may be some value in taking one of these deep threats to find the end zone.
