We had a rare 0-3 week last week at the ZOZO Championship in Japan, but the PGA Tour is back on American soil for this week's CJ Cup. This year's edition of the event will take place at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Rory McIlroy is the defending champion of the event, but we can throw those results out the window as the tournament will be held at a fourth different course in as many years.

Let's take a look at the odds for the event, and then I'll dive into my three favorite bets.

Odds to Win the CJ Cup

CJ Cup Championship Best Bets

K.H. Lee Top 20 (+210)

Strokes gained: off-the-tee is going to be the most important stat to look at for the CJ Cup. It was the defining factor at the 2021 Palmetto Championship which was hosted at Congaree, so if you want to target a solid Top 20 bet, look for guys who have ranked high in this area early in the season.

K.H. Lee ranks 7th on Tour in SG: OTT through the first four events, and he's been solid in every area this season outside of his putting where he ranks 157th. Luckily for us, this course is a rare track where you can get away with below average putting. I wouldn't get more aggressive than Top 20 on Lee, but I like him in that spot at +210.

Cameron Young Top 10 (+250)

If we're going to target golfers who are strong off the tee, let's take a look at Cameron Young. He was second in that stat last season, and he racked up seven top 10 finishes in 25 starts. If there's a course that fits his style of play, it's Congaree.

I'm going to stick with him to finish in the Top 10 this week, because he's coming off a disappointing T53 at the ZOZO Championship last week. Maybe that's the warm up he needed to get back into the flow of the season, but I'll be relatively conservative with him and target him to finish in the Top 10 this week at +250.

Jon Rahm to Win (+950)

Jon Rahm is the best driver of the golf ball on Tour, there's no denying that. He ranked 1st in strokes gained: off-the-tee last season, and I expect similar results in his 2022-23 campaign.

Rahm has also been playing some fantastic golf over in Europe since the end of last season. He finished T2 at the BMW PGA Championship, and then won the Spanish Open two weeks ago, winning by a blistering margin of six strokes.

His recent form and driving capability makes him my favorite bet on the board to capture the win this week.
