Clemson Still ACC Favorite Over Wake Forest and Pittsburgh Despite Slow Start

This has been one of the most wacky college football seasons in recent history. All you have to do is look at the latest AP poll as proof.

If you would’ve told someone two months ago that Iowa and Cincinnati would be ranked in the top four only six weeks into the season, they would’ve called you insane.

Arguably one of the biggest surprises of the season is that Clemson, dare I say, isn’t a good football team this year. The Tigers are 3-2 on the season with losses to No. 1 Georgia (understandable) and No. 22 NC State (not as understandable).

They also barely scraped by unranked Georgia Tech and Boston College, beating them both by less than a touchdown. The slow start has resulted in them being unranked for the first time since 2014.

Despite the slow start, oddsmakers still have faith that they’re the top team in the ACC. Here are the latest odds to win the conference via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Odds to Win the ACC

  • Clemson +100
  • Pittsburgh +400
  • Wake Forest +500
  • Virginia Tech +700
  • NC State +800
  • Virginia +1500
  • Miami +4000
  • UNC +4000
  • Georgia Tech +10000
  • Boston College +20000
  • Louisville +50000

Wake Forest Deserves More Respect

There’s only one undefeated team left in the ACC and that team is the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. With impressive wins over Florida State and Virginia, as well as an overtime win against Syracuse, Wake Forest could be the real deal.

Oddsmakers aren’t quite convinced, as Wake Forest is still third on the odds list to win the conference at +500 (bet $100 to profit $500). The Demon Deacons will be put to the test when they take on No. 22 NC State and Clemson in back-to-back weeks next month. If you think they can win the conference, you should place your bets now before it’s too late.

Pittsburgh Will Likely Win Coastal Division

Oddsmakers are giving the Pittsburgh Panthers the second best odds to win the ACC at +400. That’s in large part due to the fact that they should have no issue winning the Coastal division, which means a spot in the championship game is likely.

The Panthers will take on Clemson in Week 9, which will give us a true indication of just how good this team is. With an impressive win against Tennessee and a 52-21 demolishing of Georgia Tech in its only conference game to date, Pittsburgh could be crowned kings of the ACC for the first time in school history.
