The 2021 Charleston Classic concludes tonight with St. Bonaventure and Marquette facing off in the finals. However, I think the more exciting game to watch and bet will be the semifinal game between Clemson and West Virginia

The Clemson Tigers are kicking themselves after blowing a 16-point lead to No. 22 St. Bonaventure and losing out on the final game of the tournament. Clemson ended up losing to the Bonnies by three points after losing the lead with less than ten minutes remaining. Clemson was a perfect 4-0 before that game including a decisive win over the Temple Owls. Clemson is now 4-1 outright and 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in five games this season.

The Mountaineers also blew a double-digit lead in the second half but ended up losing 81-71after totally collapsing against Marquette. Despite the loss, WVU is still first in the Big 12 and is 3-1 ATS.

Here are the odds for this matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Clemson vs West Virginia Prediction and Pick

This is an interesting matchup, as each team will be looking to bounce back after blowing late leads and missing out on the tournament final.

I think this game will be won or lost in the turnover battle between a Clemson team who is not so careful with the ball and a WVU team that relies a lot on scoring off turnovers. The Mountaineers are sixth in the nation in opponent turnovers per game and fifth in opponent turnovers per play. This could pose a problem for a Clemson that lacks ball security over the last five games. The Tigers rank 54th with 11.0 turnovers per game and 87th in team turnovers per possession at 16.5%.

I think that WVU makes the more relevant adjustments after their latest loss and is a better team than the Marquette team that just beat Clemson.

Pick: West Virginia -2.5 (-115)
