Clippers vs Lakers Prediction and Odds (Bank on Clippers to Continue Lakers Slump Amidst Turmoil)
By Joe Summers
After an All-Star weekend with plenty of veiled messages from LeBron, the 27-31 Lakers are desperate to get the second-half of the season off to a good start when they take on the 30-31 Clippers tonight at 7:00 PM PST.
The Lakers will be missing Anthony Davis for a while and have won just once in their last four games. Meanwhile, the Clippers have covered the spread in four in a row and have beaten the Lakers twice this season.
Will LeBron avoid a third straight loss to his in-city rivals or does value lie with the Clippers?

Clippers vs Lakers Prediction and Pick
Look, the writing is on the wall for the Lakers. With the returns on the Russell Westbrook acquisition ranging from "unmitigated disaster" to "holy smokes, this is the worst trade ever" in addition to Anthony Davis' continual inability to stay healthy, one can understand why LeBron already seems to be plotting an exit from Los Angeles.
The Lakers are not a good basketball team and I'll happily fade them as long as the books let me. They're 13-22-1 against the spread (ATS) as a favorite and 12-18-1 at home this season. With a bottom-10 net rating, they've been overvalued the entire year and it seems oddsmakers haven't properly adjusted yet.
On the other hand, the Clippers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 as an underdog and seem to have the Lakers' number. When these teams met earlier this month, the Clippers were a 4-point favorite. Anthony Davis had 30 points and 17 rebounds while the Clippers won on a last-second shot. Now that Anthony Davis is out and the Clippers have covered four straight, the Lakers are somehow favored?
Baloney. The Clippers should be favored here and I won't hear otherwise. This is an easy call for me, just like fading the Lakers has been all season. They've got nothing going for them and with the turmoil surrounding LeBron, I expect them to stumble to the finish line.
Pick: Clippers +1 (-110)
