We've got a full slate of college basketball today as the regular season draws to a close. That means there's a ton of opportunities to back feisty underdogs and get a huge payday.

Thanks to our friends at WynnBET, I've identified five underdogs I'm targeting today. You can bet them individually or parlay them for a truly spicy Saturday.

Miami-Florida (+105) vs Syracuse

Let's kick it off with one of my favorite teams to bet as an underdog all season. Over their last seven as an underdog, the Hurricanes are 6-1 against the spread (ATS) and 5-2 outright. They're 9-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and catch a Syracuse squad that's ripe for the picking.

The Orange have lost three straight and have failed to cover the spread in each of their last four. Miami notched an 88-87 victory over Syracuse at home in January as 2-point favorites, and given their prowess on the road I don't think they should be an underdog here.

Give me Miami to stay hot in one of the best betting trends in college basketball.

TCU (+120) vs West Virginia

This is pretty simple. West Virginia is terrible. TCU is not. The Horned Frogs are an obscene 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 as an underdog and have victories over Kansas and Texas Tech in the last two weeks.

The Mountaineers, on the other hand, have won one single time in their last 15 games. That's right, once. West Virginia is supposed to be a juggernaut in Morgantown, but they're 1-5 in their last six at home so that's not working either.

Now they're favored against a TCU squad that's 8-1-1 ATS on the road? Puh-leaaaase. TCU gets the win today.

Middle Tennessee State (+100) vs Old Dominion

If you're not familiar with MTSU, you should hurry up before it's too late to take advantage of one of the best spread bets in America.

The Blue Raiders are 21-6 ATS, 10-4 on the road and 9-3 as an underdog. They've covered in seven of their last eight overall and in four of five as an underdog, so they've in good form too. They catch an Old Dominion team today that they've already beaten by 15.

The Monarchs are 12-17 ATS on the season and I don't think they can be trusted as favorites against a team that has excelled all year. MTSU gets it done and moves to 22-6 ATS on the year.

VCU (+120) vs Saint Louis

The Rams have won eight straight and likely lock up an NCAA Tournament bid with a win today. They're 8-1 ATS in their last nine as an underdog and beat Saint Louis just two weeks ago.

The Billikens are just 3-4 in their last seven. I've had the pleasure of watching each of their last several games and let me tell you, this team struggles with turnovers. They rank 180th nationally in turnover percentage and get to face a VCU squad that has the 3rd-highest defensive turnover rate in all of college basketball.

I trust the Rams to keep rolling as an underdog and stamp their ticket to March Madness today.

St John's (+150) vs Marquette

Had to give you something with a little higher odds! The Red Storm are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five as an underdog and 5-1 ATS in their previous six on the road. With Julian Champagnie and Posh Alexander leading the way, they have an excellent, fast-paced offense that should take advantage of Marquette's horrible rebounding to push the ball in transition to generate easy looks.

The Golden Eagles are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six and haven't covered as a favorite in each of their last four.

I'll take the hotter team that excels in these situations over the one in a tailspin.

Best Underdog Bets

These are my five favorite underdog plays today:

  • Miami (+105)
  • TCU (+120)
  • Middle Tennessee State (+100)
  • VCU (+120)
  • St. John's (+150)

Feel free to bet them all individually, or if you're looking for a spicy Saturday payout then a parlay pays in the neighborhood of +4861 ($100 bet to profit $4,861).
