The Saint Louis Billikens are looking to avenge Friday’s loss to St. Bonaventure when they take on the Bonnies again on the road on Monday.

Saint Louis has moved to just a two-point underdog at WynnBET in this game after opening at +2.5. The Billikens are ahead of the Bonnies with an 8-3 record in the A-10 this season, but can they pull off the upset?

Here’s why I think they can, with a look at the latest odds as well:

Saint Louis vs. St. Bonaventure Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Saint Louis: +2 (-110)
  • St. Bonaventure: -2 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Saint Louis: +112
  • St. Bonaventure: -135

Total:

  • 136.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Why Saint Louis Can Upset St. Bonaventure

BetSided’s Reed Wallach made a good point about the Billikens in his game preview, as he mentioned that they uncharacteristically turned the ball over 18 times in Friday’s loss to the Bonnies.

While neither team was great in the game, Saint Louis shot better from deep and controlled the glass in the loss, but the 18 turnovers were just too much to overcome.

When you look at these two teams this season, it’s hard to say the Bonnies deserve to be favored in this game, even though they’ve played well at home. St. Bonaventure ranks outside the top 150 in the nation in points per game, 3-point percentage, opponent 3-point percentage, effective field goal percentage, opponent effective field goal percentage and is No. 128 in rebounds per game.

What about Saint Louis?

Well, the Billikens are 34th in the country in points per game despite being No. 175 in effective field goal percentage, but they’ve held their opponents to the No. 51 opponent effective field goal percentage in the country.

Saint Louis also defends the 3 well, allowing opponents to shoot just 31.4 percent from deep, and it is a top-20 team in the country in rebounds per game.

Don’t let Friday’s result scare you away from the Billikens. I think they are live dogs on Monday.
