College Football Betting Percentages for Week 2 (Public vs. Sharps)
By Reed Wallach
Want to know where the money is going on college football Week 2? You came to the right place.
There is plenty of high profile action on Saturday, including No. 1 Alabama traveling to Austin to take on Texas and USC also on the road to face Stanford. Which side is being bet with both road teams favored over a touchdown?
WynnBET Sportsbook shared their betting percentages with BetSided to help set us up for the full slate of college football. Here are a few nuggets to know heading into it.
Which College Football Week 1 Games and Teams Have the Most Betting Tickets and Handle?
USC vs. Stanford
Like last week, when the Trojans were one of the most heavily bet teams of the weekend, USC is receiving 92.9% of the spread bets and 95.2% of the spread handle heading into their road test at Stanford.
After throttling Rice 66-14 in Week 1, many are backing Caleb Williams to further his Heisman Trophy case with a road victory.
Despite the love in the volume of bets, this number is trickling down in the market. This line was USC -11 in the lookahead market, and opened this week with the visitors favored by nine points. Now, the Trojans are eight-point chalk.
Alabama vs. Texas
Well, it appears that many people have seen the betting trend we shared this week: Alabama is 21-11 against the spread as favorites of two touchdowns or more under Nick Saban. With that in mind, people are betting the Crimson Tide in waves, more than 91% of the spread bets are on the No. 1 team in the country making 90.9% of the handle.
I broke this game down with Tom Casale of The Action Network on this week's Early Reed episode:
Tennessee vs. Pittsburgh
The Vols are another team that are a trendy road favorite, receiving 79.4% of the spread bets and 80% of the handle. Pitt may not have Kenny Pickett or Jordan Addison anymore, but did score 38 points in a win over West Virginia and will look to make it back-to-back wins over Tennessee in as many years.
However, the betting market isn't buying it. The Vols are sitting as six-point road favorites, against a stout Pitt defense with a ton of action on the visitors.
