The Big 12 was hit with devastating news this offseason when it was announced that Oklahoma and Texas would be leaving it to join the SEC in the near future.

The future of the conference is bleak at best, but it’s still intact for the time being so it’s time to dive into some betting odds for 2021.

Oklahoma has won the conference for six straight seasons dating back to 2015, but can they make it seven straight in 2021?

Oklahoma and Iowa State are a Step Above the Rest

Oklahoma is the -175 betting favorite to win the Big 12 for the seventh straight season, but Iowa State could give the Sooners some trouble. The Cyclones defeated Oklahoma 37-30 in the regular season in 2020, but fell to them 27-21 in the Big 12 Championship Game.

With Brock Purdy under center once again, Iowa State is expected to be just as good this season, if not better. It’s yet to be determined if the team can be a true challenge for Oklahoma, but it’s clear that if anyone is going to challenge the Sooners, it’s going to be the Cyclones.

Iowa State is ranked No. 7 in the preseason AP top 25 poll, while Oklahoma is ranked No. 2 behind Alabama.

The two teams are set to meet on Nov. 20, in what could be a preview of the Big 12 Championship Game.

Fading the Kansas Jayhawks Will be a Good Strategy in 2021

The Jayhawks are truly going to be one of the worst teams in college football in 2021, and betting against them throughout the season is likely going to be a good strategy.
