Conference play is underway across the country and statements were made across the national landscape.

The big story out of Saturday was that while Alabama held serve at Arkansas, but not without some adversity as starting quarterback Bryce Young left in the first half with an apparent shoulder injury.

The Crimson Tide won and remain in the College Football Playoff mix, but with Young potentially out for a significant period of time how should we assess them in the futures market?

Here is our updated power rankings in terms of valuable National Championship futures:

College Football Power Rankings

1. Georgia (+190)

The Bulldogs survived a scare against Missouri, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to win 26-22.

Next Week: Auburn

2. Ohio State (+190)

It was business as usual for the Ohio State, who rolled to a 49-10 victory over Rutgers. The team heads to East Langisg to face a struggle Michigan State team next week as they continue to roll through Big Ten play.

Next Week: @ Michigan State

3. Alabama (+250)

Young injured his shoulder in the first half and while he tried to return was removed quickly as the Crimson Tide attempted to protect their Heisman Trophy winner.

The game got dicey for a bit, but Alabama avoided the scare, pulling away in the second half to win 49-26.

We'll keep Alabama third in the rankings until we get more clarity on Young's injury, but this could be a devastating blow to the Tide's title hopes.

As of now, coach Nick Saban is calling it a sprained shoulder for Young.

Next week: Texas A&M

4. Clemson (+1400)

The Tigers picked up a big win against No. 10 NC State, and firmly look like a contender for the College Football Playoff.

Next Week: @ Boston College

5. Michigan (+2000)

Michigan survived their first road test of the season at Iowa, winning 27-14. The Wolverines looked the part of a CFP contender against an elite defense, avoiding any turnovers and grinding out a win and cover.

Next Week: @ Indiana

6. USC (+2000)

The Trojans had very little trouble with Arizona State, cruising to a 42-25 win behind three touchdown passes from Caleb Williams.

Next Week: Washington State

7. Tennessee (+5000)

BYE WEEK

Next Week: @ LSU

8. Utah (+6000)

Remember when Utah lost at Florida in Week 1? What a fun memory because the Utes are playing to their preseason level now, this time disposing of Oregon State 42-16.

The Beavers lost starting quarterback Chance Nolan to a neck injury early on and that set the whole game out of sorts as Utah won the turnover battle 4-0.

Next Week: @ UCLA

9. Oklahoma State (+4000)

The Cowboys started Big 12 play with a bang, avenging their championship game loss last year to Baylor, winning 36-23.

Spencer Sanders combined for over 250 yards and had a pair of touchdowns, but was aided by a kickoff return for a touchdown to start the second half as well as a safety to announce themselves as a Big 12 contender.

Next Week: Texas Tech

10. TCU (+15000)

The biggest statement of the week came in Fort Worth, Texas, as TCU ended any hopes of Oklahoma making a CFP push, destroying the Sooners 55-24 in a game that was never in doubt.

Despite an injury to Dillon Gabriel on a dirty hit, the Horned Frogs were in complete control of this one, outgaining OU, 668-355 and hanging 41 on them in the first half.

11. North Carolina State (+30000)

The Wolfpack needed a statement win over Clemson, but they came up short, making a playoff berth a long shot at this point.

Next Week: Florida State

12. Penn State (+8000)

The Nittany Lions enter their bye week right where they want to be, unbeaten and getting the likes of Nicolas Singleton more experience at running back.

We'll learn a lot about Penn State over the next few weeks, when they play at Michigan, host Minnesota and Ohio State in three straight weeks.

Next Week: BYE

13. Ole Miss (+6000)

After cruising through a soft non conference schedule, Ole Miss survived their first true test, holding off top 10 foe Kentucky at home, 22-19.

The Rebels defense was massive against Will Levis and the Wildcats offensive line, sacking him three times and generating two fumbles inside their own territory in the fourth to escape with a win.

Next Week: @ Vanderbilt

14. Oregon (+6000)

The Ducks continue to play well, beating Stanford on Saturday. Oregon has rebounded nicely since getting dismantled by Georgia in Week 1, but it needs to win the Pac 12 to have a real shot at playoff contention.

Next Week: @ Arizona

15. Kansas (+30000)

The Jayhawks keep their magic alive! It wasn't pretty, but Kansas improved to 5-0 on the season, holding off Iowa State 14-11 despite being outgained by more than 100 yards.

It helped that the Cyclones missed an extra point and three field goals to get the Jayhawks the W, but Kansas remains one of the few unbeatens in college football in what appears to be a wide open Big 12.

Next Week: TCU

16. Kansas State (N/A)

The Wildcats loss at home to Tulane a few weeks ago may be a distant memory as the team has rolled through Big 12 competition to a 2-0 record.

Adrian Martinez followed up his monster performance against Oklahoma with another big outing against Texas Tech, rushing for three touchdowns on 171 yards.

K-State is in control of the Big 12 thus far with wins over two quality foes.

Next Week: @ Iowa State

17. Mississippi State (+40000)

Mississippi State made a statement in a win over Texas A&M, overpowering the Aggies with their air raid offense but also beating up on a wounded and potentially taxed opponent, winning 42-24 with a handful of explosive plays, including this blocked kick return for a score.

Next Week: Arkansas

18. UCLA (+8000)

If you stayed up late Friday night you saw the Dorian Thompson-Robinson show. The Bruins star quarterback passed for 315 yards and combined for five touchdowns in the team's impressive home victory over Washington, 40-32.

Next Week: Utah

19. Kentucky (+40000)

The Wildcats struggled in Oxford on Saturday, scoring only 19 points despite getting star running back Chris Rodriguez back from a suspension. Kentucky averaged less than three yards per carry in their first loss of the season.

Next Week: South Carolina

Next Week: @ Arizona State

21. Wake Forest (N/A)

Wake Forest disposed of Florida State on the road, 31-21, cashing as +205 underdogs. Sam Hartman continued his fine play, passing for 234 yards but it was the Demon Decans run game that was the key, picking up 171 yards on the ground.

Next Week: Army

22. Pittsburgh (N/A)

Pitt took a brutal loss to now 2-3 Georgia Tech on Saturday, scoring just seven points in the first three quarters.

Next Week: Virginia Tech

Next Week: Notre Dame (N)

24. Oklahoma (+25000)

We are running thin on teams so we will harp on Oklahoma, who looked primed for a College Football Playoff appearance, but they have been stonewalled in Big 12 play.

After losing to Kansas State, the Sooners got blitzed on the road against TCU, 55-24. Once the Big 12 favorite is now far back of the pace.

Next Week: Texas (N)

25. Texas A&M (N/A)

It seemed like Texas A&M may have turned a corner, but the team got destroyed against Mississippi State on the road, 42-24, pretty much ending their CFP hopes.
