College Football Power Rankings Based on National Championship Odds
By Ben Heisler
Throughout the college football season, we've been keeping tabs on how the latest AP Top 25 poll lines up with the National Championship odds over at WynnBET.
Here are the latest AP Top 25 teams in the top 10:
- Georgia
- Cincinnati
- Alabama
- Oklahoma
- Ohio State
- Michigan
- Oregon
- Michigan State
- Iowa
- Ole Miss
Now that we're headed into Week 9, let's power rank the top 10 college football programs this season based on their WynnBET odds.
1. Georgia (7-0) +105
The mighty Bulldogs continue to play impressive football and remain one of the lone undefeated teams left in a power-5 conference. If they can handle Florida on a neutral site as a 14.5-point favorite, they'll cakewalk to the SEC Championship game.
2. Alabama (7-1) +240
It still remains unfathomable that 'Bama fell to Texas A&M a few weeks ago. They've played angry since with a 49-9 road win vs. Mississippi State along with a 52-24 win over Tennessee. Bryce Young remains the favorite at WynnBET to win the Heisman at +150.
3. Ohio State (6-1) +700
Since the home loss to Oregon in Week 2 by a single touchdown, the Buckeyes have won every game on their schedule by a minimum of 14 points. C.J. Stroud's stock in the Heisman race continues to rise.
4. Cincinnati (7-0) +3000
The Bearcats finally got tested for all four quarters last week in a 28-20 win over Navy. With fellow AAC school SMU also undefeated, get ready to circle November 20th on the calendar when they kick off in Cincy.
5. Oklahoma (8-0) +1200
This year's Jekyll & Hyde of college football. This week, they found themselves shut out at Kansas before scoring 35 in the second half to win 35-23. Sooners have three tough games vs. Baylor, Iowa State and Oklahoma State to close out their season.
6. Michigan (7-0) +2000
Is this the year the Wolverines finally overtake Ohio State? Judging by their history, probably not, but a huge test awaits against fellow undefeated Big Ten team Michigan State in East Lansing.
7. Michigan State (7-0) +8000
The Spartans have a tough back end of their schedule with Michigan this week, and then close out their schedule at Ohio State and then home vs. Penn State. Spartans are rested following a bye after their win at Indiana last week.
8. Oregon (6-1) +5000
The Ducks got a huge win last week at UCLA, but have gone just 2-5 ATS all season. Ironically enough, their two biggest wins (at Ohio State, UCLA) were the two games in which they covered the spread.
9. Ole Miss (6-1) +10000
Lane Kiffin's club continues to keep things interesting with a wild win over Arkansas following the Alabama loss, and then two of their better defensive outings against Tennessee and LSU afterwards. If they can slow down Auburn on the road, Ole Miss' odds will continue to rise.
10. Iowa (6-1) +20000
Life comes at you fast. One week you're No. 2 in the AP Poll, and the next week you lose 24-7 to unranked Purdue and find yourself 3.5-point road underdogs against 4-3 Wisconsin at WynnBET.
