When these teams played last month, Colorado State was a 6.5-point home favorite. Now they're getting 3-point underdogs on the road? What gives?
The Rams have failed to cover the spread in each of their last two games but have been stout on the road, going 5-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven. Utah State is no slouch at home, having covered the spread in four of their last six, but we're getting fantastic value on Colorado State tonight.
With the 24th-ranked adjusted offensive efficiency thanks to the 14th-highest effective field goal percentage in the country, the Rams should take advantage of an Aggies defense that allows opponents to shoot just under 50% from the field.
David Roddy, one of the better players in all of college basketball, dropped 24 points on 9/13 shooting in that first game and I expect a strong performance from him again today. Utah State is just 4-6 ATS over their last 10 as a favorite, and frankly I don't think they should be favored today.
Give me Colorado State to cover the small number on the road and I think they're live on the moneyline as well.
