Colorado vs. No. 8 USC Prediction and Odds for College Football Week 11 (An Offensive Explosion in Southern Cal)
By Josh Yourish
Friday Night football in the Pac-12 sounds great to me, I just wish it wasn’t a 34-point spread. The USC Trojans are 8-1 in the first year under Lincoln Riley and seem to be a legitimate College Football Playoff Contender. There is still a long way to go, but if Riley and Caleb Williams want their team to be considered for a top four spot then they need to handle their business against Colorado.
Like I said, it’s a huge spread so let’s check out what Vegas thinks about this one.
Colorado vs. USC Odds, Spread and Total
USC and Colorado Betting Trends
- USC is 5-4 ATS
- Colorado is 2-7 ATS
- The over is 6-3 in USC games
- The over is 6-3 in Colorado games
- The over is 4-0 in Colorado’s last four road games
- The over is 6-1 in Colorado’s games against a team with a winning record
- The over is 6-0 in USC’s last six home games vs. a team with a losing record
Colorado vs. USC Prediction and Pick
I’m not sure if you noticed in the betting trends section just above, but there is one thing that really stands out: points. The over is a heavy trend with these two teams, especially in this situation. USC routinely goes over against bad teams and Colorado against good ones. The Buffs are 128th in total defense this season and USC is 95th.
Just last week, USC allowed 35 points to Cal, a team that averages just 24.7 points per game. Their defense has been opportunistic and created turnovers this year, but they are not stout. Riley still needs time to develop his defense into a playoff caliber unit, but naturally the offense came first for him. That means points will be scored in this one.
Caleb Williams is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, he has thrown for 28 touchdowns and just one interception. Only one pick on 316 attempts is ridiculous and not only shows his ability, but the play-calling prowess of Lincoln Riley. Williams will have a big day against one of the worst defenses in the country and instead of worrying about the Trojans covering a massive spread, let’s just root for points and take the over.
Pick: Over 65.5 (-110)
