The Utah Utes are one game away from the Pac-12 Championship after clinching the conference last weekend. This week they face off against the Colorado Buffaloes in what could be a look-ahead game in Week 13.

The pair are set to square off at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Friday with the Buffaloes looking for their fifth win of the season. Colorado comes off a 20-17 win over Washington in Week 12 and moved to 3-5 in conference play. Buffaloes quarterback Brendon Lewis went 14-for-25 with 112 yards and no touchdowns. The mobile QB added 30 yards on the ground and a rushing TD. While Lewis doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, he also doesn't make a lot of big plays.

Utah meanwhile moved to 8-3 overall and 7-1 in the Pac-12 after spanking the Oregon Ducks 38-7 as underdogs. The win gave the Utes' sole possession of the South division crown and a possible rematch with the Ducks in the conference title game. QB Cameron Rising totaled 178 yards while Taviaon Thomas was the star of the game with 94 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Colorado vs. Utah Prediction and Pick

Utah has a chance to end their season on a high note heading into the Pac-12 Championship game on Dec 3.  The Buffaloes, on the other hand, have nothing to play for except for pride. They can’t spoil anything for the Utes as a win or loss has no effect on their title aspirations. Utah has covered five of its last seven games and is 6-1 SU in that span. Meanwhile, Colorado has had a tough time with Utah in recent years and is 0-5 ATS in their last five meetings.

With the spread so large for this game, it's easy to be tempted towards picking the underdog to cover. Utah has already clinched and has nothing left to gain from beating up on Colorado. While that is all true, the Buffaloes are so bad I can’t in good conscience recommend them. Sure, they are coming off a win. But, they were outgained by Washington 426 to 183 on offense and were lucky to get away with a victory. This offense is bad and I don’t see how they manage to score enough to keep pace with the Utes.

Colorado is also 0-4 on the road while the Utes are undefeated at home. Even if the Utes don’t play all their starters in the lead-up to the title game, Utah has enough weapons to cover against this weak Colorado program.

Pick: Utah Utes -23.0 (-110)
