Colts vs. Patriots Prediction and Odds for NFL Week 9: Don't be Surprised to See Offenses Thrive
The Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots used to be must-watch television when Peyton Manning and Tom Brady would face-off.
Those days are long behind us, and now we get a game between Sam Ehlinger and Mac Jones. I have to admit, but this quarterback matchup doesn't quite get me as excited as Manning vs. Brady.
Regardless, these are two teams with playoff hopes, so this game is still extremely important for both clubs.
Let's dive into the odds for this AFC showdown.

Colts vs. Patriots Prediction and Pick
For a total to be set in the 30's, I would need both offenses to be in the bottom 10 in the NFL. That isn't the case in this matchup. The Patriots rank 14th in yards per play this season, and the Colts, while ranking 25th, had their yards per play increase from 5.1 to 6.0 with Sam Ehlinger at quarterback.
Not only that, but the Colts should be able to run the ball successfully against the Patriots. New England ranks 23rd in opponent yards per carry. The Colts have struggled to run the ball all season, but I think they can get it moving this week.
The Colts turnovers in scoring position have killed them all season, but I'll bank on some positive regression from them in that area.
I think the total is too low in this game, and for that reason, I'll back the OVER.
