Frank Reich was doing everything possible to save his job as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, but I’m not sure that Sam Ehlinger was the right horse to hitch his wagon to.

Yes, Jim Irsay played a big part in the decision to switch to Ehlinger, but he also played a big part in the decision to switch to a new head coach. The Colts are going nowhere fast and yet, at 3-5-1 they are a game and a half up on the Las Vegas Raiders.

Maybe the Colts can try to hire Josh McDaniels again after he gets fired for this disaster in Vegas.

Both of these teams are probably buried, but after this week we will know that they are done for sure. Let’s check out the odds for this dumpster fire of a football game.

Colts vs. Raiders Odds, Spread and Total

Raiders and Colts Betting Trends

  • Raiders are 3-5 ATS
  • Colts are 3-6 ATS
  • The under is 8-1 in Colts games
  • Raiders are 1-6 ATS vs. a team with a losing record

Colts vs. Raiders Prediction and Pick

It looks very bleak for both of these teams. The Colts have fired their offensive coordinator, benched their starting quarterback, and now Frank Reich has been fired. That is the natural progression down the path to a new regime and maybe the Raiders should start down that road. The Colts have been a disaster, but at least they don't have a quarterback or top receiver, the Raiders have both and Josh McDaniels still can't win.

Sam Ehlinger got the full Bill Belichick experience in Week 9. The second-year quarterback was sacked nine times, and threw for 103 yards on 29 pass attempts with one interception. The offense managed just three points. Meanwhile, the Raiders were allowing 168 rushing yards and 27 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

At least Davante Adams finally had a big day. He had 10 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. It took Josh McDaniels nine weeks and the Jaguars defense to figure out how to get the ball in the hands of possibly the best wide receiver in football.

This game will be ugly and the under has been free money on Indianapolis this season, so let’s ride that trend.

Pick: Under 42.5 (-105)
