The Indianapolis Colts lost a heartbreaker to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 and their chance at winning back-to-back games. The defense held Tom Brady to 226 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception.

The problem is they forgot about Leonard Fournette who ran for 100 yards and three touchdowns on Indy. He added seven catches for 31 yards and an additional touchdown. It was a very winnable game for Indy if the Colts had game planned a bit better.

This week, things should be a bit easier for them as they head to the Lonestar State to face off against the 2-9 Houston Texans. If you need any indication as to where the Texans are as a team right now, they lost outright to the Jets 21-14 in Week 12. I think that about sums up the state of the Texans this season.

Somehow, they beat the Titans two weeks back but their only other win was to the Jaguars in Week 1. Can they find the magic again at home against the 6-6 Colts?

Colts vs. Texans Prediction and Pick

The Colts had last week’s game in the bag but were unable to hold on to a 10-point lead. The biggest reason for this was the five turnovers they committed. For reference, in the three wins they had leading up to Week 13, they had a grand total of zero turnovers.

What this tells me is that those five turnovers were more of an anomaly than something to expect to happen again. I am no fan at all of Carson Wentz and he might have single-handedly cost the Colts a game for the second time this season. But, this game shouldn't require Wentz to do too much and the Colts can limit his turnover potential. Wentz doesn't even have a turnover issue really, it’s just they come at the worst possible times.

Jonathan Taylor is the key to a quick and easy won over the Texans. Houston ranks 24th in the NFL in opponent yards per rush and 31st with 135.6 rushing yards surrendered per game.  Taylor was bottled up in last week’s loss and will be hungry to get back over 100 yards rushing for the fourth time in six games.

Pick: Indianapolis Colts -8.5 (-110)
