The Detroit Lions covered the spread once again in Week 1, picking up two late touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles to lose by just three points.

Meanwhile, Carson Wentz and the Washington Commanders pulled off a comeback win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, with rookie receiver Jahan Dotson stealing the show with two touchdown grabs.

Wentz made his usual mistake throwing a bad pick, but he was effective late in the game to move Washington to 1-0. With Dak Prescott out for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington has a chance to make some noise in the division.

Here are the latest odds for the Commanders-Lions matchup in Week 2:

The total in this game has risen from 46.5 to 48.5 points, and the Lions are now 1.5-point favorites after getting up to 2.5-point favorites at some sportsbooks.

Commanders vs. Lions Best Bet and Prediction

The Lions are favored for the first time in their last 24 games, but there’s no way I’m betting on them in this spot.

Everyone has made a big deal about the Lions playing hard and covering the spread under Dan Campbell, but don’t let it slip past you that they were down 38-21 entering the fourth quarter against Philly.

The problem with being favored, is that the Lions can’t rely on garbage time scores to help them cover the spread, they actually have to win the game.

The Commanders aren’t a great team, but they should be able to run all over a Lions front seven that allowed four different players to score on the ground in Week 1. If the Commanders can limit the opportunities for Wentz to make mistakes, they are certainly live to win this game.
