The Buffalo Bills silenced their detractors this weekend by completely blowing the doors off the New England Patriots in round one of the playoffs. As 4.5 points favorites the Bills won 47-17 in one of the most embarrassing playoff losses the Patriots have ever suffered. The Bills got it done on both sides of the ball but accomplished something truly incredible on offense.

The Buffalo Bills, thanks to Josh Allen and Co. had a perfect game on offense. I had never heard this term applied to football and never even considered it to be a possibility. Yet, the Bills did it. For those unaware, a perfect offensive game is one where a team scores a touchdown on every single possession. Not just score, mind you, but score a TD. No field goals, no punts, no turnovers. The Bills didn’t even see a fourth down during the entire game. It was the first time in NFL history that this had happened in the regular season or the playoffs. This was all the more impressive because the Patriots' defense is one of the best in the league.

A lot of their success can be traced back to QB Josh Allen who had one of the best games of his career. Allen went 21-for-25 with 308 yards and five touchdowns. He converted six of seven third downs with the seventh being the kneel down to end the game. The offense gained yards on 49 of their 51 total players and their only loss of yardage was the aforementioned kneel down. Allen became the first QB in franchise history to throw five touchdowns in a playoff game without recording an interception. Allen was also not sacked once and had more passing touchdowns (5) than he did incomplete passes (4).

Games don’t get much better than that and the performance has seen the Bills playoffs odds adjust because of it. Entering the game, the Bills were +750 to win the Super Bowl. Today they +450 at WynnBET behind the Chiefs (+375) and Packers (+350).

If they can take the momentum from this win into this weekend’s game against the Chiefs it will be a huge advantage as 2.5 point road dogs against the defending AFC champions.
