There was all this talk about the AFC West, NFC West, or even the AFC North about what would be the best division in football, but it turns out that it’s the NFC East.

The division that has been a punchline for years has three of the best teams in football and two of them play on Sunday night. The 4-1 Dallas Cowboys go to Philadelphia to play the 5-0 Eagles in Week 6 and for the first time in a while, I’m excited for an NFC East primetime game.

Cowboys vs. Eagles Prediction and Pick

The Eagles looked vulnerable for the first time all season against the Cardinals in Week 5. They did their thing going out to a lead with the league's best first half offense, but needed a missed field goal as time expired to avoid overtime. Jalen Hurts played well and continues to be an MVP candidate, but the Eagles second half offense looks like it could be their achilles heel.

These are two of the best passing defenses in the NFL, the Eagles allow a league best five yards per attempt and the Cowboys are third, 5.2 yards. The Cowboys are second in sacks with 20 and the Eagles are a few spots behind at 17. These pass rushes are great and the secondaries are opportunistic.

The Eagles have forced 11 turnovers and the Cowboys seven. That turnover luck might be a big reason for the Eagles undefeated start, they have forced six fumbles and recovered five of those. Numbers like that eventually regress.

Dak Prescott could end up playing and might move this line if it is announced, but Cooper Rush is 5-0 as a starter over the last two years, so Dallas could take its time with Prescott’s hand injury and not rush him back.

This game is about the running game and blocking up front, both these teams have shown an ability to do just that. The low total scared me off from betting the under, but if it starts to creep up then I would happily be on that. Instead I’ll take the Cowboys and the points because I see a close game and maybe even Philly’s first loss.

Pick: Cowboys +5.5 (-110)
