The best team in the NHL's Western Conference will take on the worst team in the Western Conference tonight when the Colorado Avalanche host the Arizona Coyotes.

The Avalanche have won 10-straight games, and are in little-to-no danger of that streak being snapped tonight. With that being said, the Coyotes did take the Avalanche to a shootout in an earlier meeting this season, but Colorado responded with a 5-0 thumping in the second half of that home-and-home series.

Let's take a look at the odds for tonight's game, courtesy of WynnBET.

Coyotes vs. Avalanche Odds and Total

Moneyline:

  • Coyotes +450
  • Avalanche -600

Puck line:

  • Coyotes +1.5 (+165)
  • Avalanche -1.5 (-200)

Total:

  • 6.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Coyotes vs. Avalanche Betting Trends

  • Coyotes are 0-5 in their last five games.
  • Avalanche are 10-1 in their last 11 home games vs. Coyotes.
  • The OVER is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these teams.
  • Avalanche are 10-0 in their last 10 home games.

Coyotes vs. Avalanche Prediction and Pick

I'm not going to sit here and advise you to back a -600 (bet $600 to profit $100) favorite in the Avalanche, and I certainly can't make the argument that the Coyotes are a good bet to make, so instead, I'm going to look at the total instead.

The Avalanche have been a power house in their last 10 games, but they've struggled defensively. Over that stretch, they rank 22nd in high danger scoring chances against per game, allowing an average of 12.31. The Coyotes rank right behind them at 23rd in that stat, allowing 12.5 high danger scoring chances against per game.

Arizona may only need to score one or two goals for the OVER to hit tonight, so I'm going to lean towards the OVER 6.5 at -110.

Lean: OVER 6.5
