Coyotes vs. Bruins Prediction and Odds (Arizona Riding an Unlikely Winning Streak)

The Arizona Coyotes head out to Beantown tonight to take on the Boston Bruins in search of their fifth win in a row. While that may not sound like a big deal, it is from a team that has a record of 18-35-4 through 57 games. That means that 22.3% of the Coyotes wins this season came in the last four games. Now, the Coyotes do have a strength of schedule rank of fourth in the NHL, but their record is still inexcusable.

The Bruins, on the other hand, are fourth in the Atlantic Division with an overall record of 35-18-5. They are winners of eight of their last 10 games and already beat the Coyotes 2-1 back in January. Here are the odds for tonight’s primetime matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

It has been a brutal season so far for the Arizona Coyotes which makes their recent 4-0 winning streak all the more puzzling. Have they suddenly figured out all the issues plaguing their team? Is there something else going on here? I'm inclined to believe the latter is more likely. First of all, they beat the best team in the NHL to start their streak with a 2-1 win over Colorado. That game has flukes written all over it. Then the Coyotes beat Ottawa and Detroit after scoring a combined 17 goals in those two games. It's worth noting that they allowed seven, but it's crazy to score that much in consecutive games.

The Coyotes have now scored 22 in their last three games. However, the fact remains that the Coyotes won 14 times in their first 53 games of the season. I am having a hard time accepting that they just “figure it out”.

While I don’t think that is the case, their short-term success feels a bit more certain. They are a very average team that has been playing their asses off and it shows. With that in mind, I’m going to take a chance here on a Coyotes team that is playing out of their mind right now.
