Creighton vs. Villanova Prediction and Odds: Wildcats Seek Revenge After Embarrassing Loss
By Matt De Saro
The Creighton Bluejays and No. 19 Villanova Wildcats are on a collision course tonight. The Bluejays are coming off a double-overtime win over Marquette and already have one win under their belt against the Wildcats. It was an embarrassing 79-59 loss for Villanova who was ranked ninth at the time. Because of the nature of that loss, I fully expect the Wildcats to be in revenge mode. But with a 2-0 conference record and a two-game win streak, Creighton won't just lay down and let the Wildcats have their way.
Villanova, meanwhile, shook off that loss to Creighton a few weeks back and has won back-to-back games since. The wins were over Xavier and Seton Hall, both ranked teams at the time of playing.

Creighton vs. Villanova Prediction and Pick
The loss to Creighton came as quite a shock to many including myself. The Wildcats have four players who average in double figures yet average just 72.5 PPG. That ranks them 125th in the nation in points per game and tells me that their depth is questionable. With four starters that shoot that well, there is no reason that Nova should be such a low-scoring offense.
Their shooting issues were the major reason why they get beat so badly by the Bluejays the last time out. Villanova shot just 33.3% from the field and was out-rebounded 41-29. Basically, Creighton outplayed Villanova on both ends of the court and held the then-No. 9 team in the nation to just 59 points.
But, Nova is not a great road team as of now and their offense really shines at home. They are averaging 85.8 points per game in their last four home games and are 3-1 ATS in those games. Also, while the Wildcats were particularly bad last time around, Creighton shot uncharacteristically well. The Bluejays drained 54.4% of their shots from the floor. This mark will be very hard to duplicate here. I think the tables are turned tonight with the Wildcats at home looking for revenge.
Pick: Villanova -10.5 (-115)
