Best Home Run Picks for Monday, May 2

  • Jorge Polanco (+600)
  • Max Kepler (+600)
  • Alex Bregman (+365) at WynnBET Sportsbook
  • Chas McCormick (+265)

Jorge Polanco (+600): Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles

I feel like fading the Orioles pitching staff when it comes to the Daily Dinger is a solid strategy to follow. For tonight, I'll back Jorge Polanco to go yard against Baltimore, who starts against Tyler Wells (5.54 ERA) on the mound. Wells has given up 2.1 home runs per nine innings so far this season, so it'd be easy for him to imagine him giving up at least one dinger tonight.

Polanco's numbers aren't quite what they were last year, but I expect some positive regression from him. I think he hits third home run of the season tonight. -- Iain MacMillan

Max Kepler (+600): Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles

Kepler is a power hitter, and should thrive against Orioles starting pitcher Tyler Wells; allowing more than two homers per 9 innings this season. Not to mention, if Wells gets pulled, the Orioles below average pitching staff will be vulnerable to a big fly as well.

Kepler is hitting .257 on the year, his best mark in several seasons but is maintaining his power as well, crushing five homers.

At 6-1 odds I'll take a shot in the hitter friendly Camden Yards. -- Reed Wallach

Alex Bregman (+365): Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros

Bregman has a favorable matchup against the Seattle Mariners on Monday, facing soft-throwing lefty Marco Gonzales, who has already allowed four homers this season.

Bregman has four homers himself in 2022, and he’s a career .310 hitter against Gonzalez (9-for-29) with four extra base hits. While he’s yet to break through with a home run, Bregman could be due in this game.

The Astros infielder is much better against lefties in his career, as his slugging percentage jumps from .478 to .568 and his batting average increases from .265 to .313.

I think Bregman has a chance to take Gonzales deep tonight. -- Peter Dewey

Chas McCormick (+265): Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros

McCormick is on fire with seven hits over his last five games; three of which have gone for extra base hits.

He should also thrive against the soft-tossing Gonzales, who according to FantasyLabs, owns the highest SIERA (skill interactive earned run average) of all pitchers tonight over the last year.

McCormick has also hit lefties well over his career with an .829 OPS vs. southpaws. -- Ben Heisler
