Top Home Run Picks Today
- Aaron Judge (+240)
- Ronald Acuña Jr. (+310)
Aaron Judge (+240) - New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros
Home runs are the bread and butter of the Yankees’ offense, and Judge is the main reason for that. He started this series without a home run yesterday, but he’ll get on the board tonight. Verlander is coming off a terrible outing against the White Sox.
He’s given up six home runs in his last five starts – four of them came in one game. Although he’s had a good season, I’ll bet on the best home run hitting team in the league and the home run leader right now.
Ronald Acuña Jr. (+310) - Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
I'm not sold on Julio Urías of the Dodgers, who has seen his strikeout marks dwindle to a career low and his FIP nearly double his ERA. He is ripe for regression and now is pitching against a scorching Braves lineup that plays in a hitter friendly ball park at SunTrust Park.
Acuña is one of the best hitters in baseball, but he does even better against left handed pitching. He has a slugging percentage of .589 against lefties, up from .419 against righties and has hit six of his seven homers at home in 18 starts this season.
I like the Braves to begin with, and I think Acuña is ripe to lead the way with a long ball.
