Best Home Run Picks Today

  • Jordan Luplow (+290)
  • Jazz Chisholm (+360)
  • Giancarlo Stanton (+265) - available at WynnBET
  • Jared Walsh (+490)

Jordan Luplow (+290) - Arizona Diamondbacks at Cincinnati Reds

Here's a fun batter vs. pitcher matchup to dissect today.

Diamondbacks outfielder/first baseman Jordan Luplow has five hits in 31 at-bats against left-handed pitching. Four of those five have left the ballpark.

Conversely, Reds left-hander Mike Minor makes his second start of the season after (checks notes), giving up three home runs in four innings back on June 3rd. Historically, Minor has always struggled vs. right-handed power bats, allowing a HR/9 of 1.32 to righties vs. 0.97 vs. left-handers.

The Diamondbacks-Reds matchup has the highest total on the board at WynnBET Sportsbook with 10 runs projected in the Queen City, and both teams are implied for 4.5 and 5 runs respectively.

For a guy hitting .181 on the season, I was surprised to see Luplow's numbers below 3/1 odds to go yard. Then again, Vegas always knows something. -- Ben Heisler

Jazz Chisholm (+360) - Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals

I’m sticking with fading pitchers that give up a ton of long balls in my Daily Dinger picks, and today we’re fading Washington Nationals starter Josiah Gray, who has allowed 14 big flys already in 2022.Now, for the fun part: We’re backing the electric Jazz Chisholm to go deep on Wednesday night. Chisholm smashed his 10th homer of the season on Tuesday night, and he has destroyed Gray in his career, going 4-for-11 (.364) with one homer and a triple.

Gray is almost a lock to allow a homer, and I love the matchup for the Marlins lefty second baseman. -- Peter Dewey

Giancarlo Stanton (+265) - New York Yankees at Minnesota Twins

Anytime you’re picking out a home run hitter for the night, you can’t go wrong with a Yankee. The Bronx Bombers are averaging over 1.5 home runs per game and face the Twins, who give up 1.11 home runs per game (23rd in the majors).

Stanton has 12 homers on the year, and that’s with missing some time. You can pick anyone out of this Yankee lineup and it would be a good pick. Nevertheless, I like Stanton to stay hot upon his return. -- Donnavan Smoot

Jared Walsh (+490) - Los Angeles Angels vs. Boston Red Sox

Jared Walsh and the Angels are set to take on the Red Sox and Nathan Eovaldi. If you're looking for a good time to bet on a player to hit a home run, do it when Eovaldi takes the mound.

He ranks sixth in all of Major League Baseball in home runs allowed per nine innings amongst starting pitchers who have pitched at least 20 innings this season. He's giving up 2.3 dingers per nine innings, and before his last start, had given one up in five-straight games.

Sure, I could take an easier bet with Ohtani, but give me some more value on Walsh, who has already hit 10 this season. -- Iain MacMillan

The Angels are losers of 13 in a row now, but I think it's time to start buying low at least in some way on this offense. With Mike Trout potentially out with a groin injury, I'm going to look to some other power in the lineup to go deep against Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi's FIP is more than a run higher than his ERA, and he is allowing more than two home runs per 9 innings. Walsh does good work against righties, hitting .259 with nine home runs, and I'll take a shot on him to get a hold of one with the wind blowing out in Anaheim. -- Reed Wallach
