Daily Dinger: Best Home Run Prop Bet Picks Today (Target Dodgers, Phillies in Plus-Power Matchups)
By Ben Heisler
It's a new week in the Major Leagues, and a great time to close out the month of May with lots of home run props at plus-value.
Our team at BetSided had another multi-homer pick day last Tuesday, but slowed down with just one more hitting a few days later.
This week, we're heading into a holiday weekend with some warmer weather, the ball starting to carry a little more, and ultimately more chances to go yard and hit on some picks!
Throughout the 2022 MLB season, the BetSided team serves up our best home run prop bet picks every day in our "Daily Dinger" feature.
WynnBET Sportsbook offers home run prop bet odds for several players across each game, but not every batter listed in the article is always available. Bettors can still wager on these matchups, as well as bet on multiple unique prop bets offered for each game. For the latest up-to-date odds, visit WynnBET Sportsbook here.
Odds shown are consensus if they are not made available at WynnBET. If listed as TBD, it means odds have not been offered as of this writing.
Here are our top home run prop bet picks for Monday, May 23, 2022. You can always follow along all season with our "Daily Dinger" selections HERE.
Home Run Picks for May 23, 2022
- Mookie Betts (+390)
- Justin Turner (+500)
- Rhys Hoskins (+270)
- Alec Bohm (+500)
Mookie Betts (+390) - Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals
Betts has been on fire for the Dodgers this season, as he’s already homered 10 times in his first 38 games.
The Dodgers face Joan Adon and the Washington Nationals on Monday, and Adon has allowed three homers in three appearances (nine innings) this season.
I could bet anyone on L.A. to go deep, but I’ll trust Betts’ hot bat on Monday night. -- Peter Dewey
Justin Turner (+500) - Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals
Turner's season long metrics don't jump off the page, but he's starting to round into form, hitting .271 over the last two weeks with three of his four home runs.
I'll ride the hot hand against Adon, who has an ERA of 6.36 and is ripe to get tagged by the Dodgers lineup. I also like Turner as a lefty against potential relievers that are mainly righties out of the Nats pen. -- Reed Wallach
Rhys Hoskins (+270) - Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves
The Phillies have been dominant against left-handed pitchers this season, ranking third in the Majors in OPS against them.
Today, they face lefty Tucker Davidson, who has a subpar 5.87 ERA on the year. That makes me want to take someone on Philadelphia to go yard, and I could make the safe choice and go with Bryce Harper, but instead I'm going to look at Rhys Hoskins.
Hoskins has a .877 OPS against lefties this season, and already has three home runs in just 42 plate appearances against them. I'll bet on him to hit his fourth today. -- Iain MacMillan
Alec Bohm (+500) - Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves
After going nearly a month without leaving the yard, Bohm went deep over the weekend against the Dodgers, and followed it up with a walk-off winner on Sunday.
The matchup vs. left-handed Davidson is an advantageous one for Bohm. This season, Bohm's isolated power (ISO) is .233 vs. southpaws. Against right-handers? It's a paltry .067. ISO is a metric that evaluates raw power by measuring the quality of extra base hits and home runs without factoring in batting average.
I'll bank on Bohm to ride hot at a nice discount tonight compared to several of his other Phillies' teammates.
