Dallas Cowboys second-year cornerback Trevon Diggs has quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s premier corners in 2021.

Diggs picked off Sam Darnold twice in Week 4, giving him five interceptions on the season and at least one in every game so far this year. That’s incredibly impressive, and starting quarterback Dak Prescott gave his teammate some major props after Dallas’ win.

“Some of these interceptions he’s getting, I learned long ago in the spring not to try him on those routes or on those plays,” Prescott said. “When he gets interceptions I almost laugh, like, ‘Yeah, I understand.’

“He’s an instinctive player and obviously he has hands. He’s an old receiver, so he’s disguising a lot of these guys. And also just playing the best guy on the field, he’s going to get the opportunity. Just proud of him.”

That wasn’t all. Prescott went as far as to say that Diggs is the best corner in the NFL right now (somewhere out there Jalen Ramsey is fuming at this).

“For sure,” Prescott responded. “Turn on the tape. Watch what he’s doing. Watch the guys that he’s following week in and week out, the (opponents’) best player.

“But, yes, it’s easy to see.”

Diggs leads the NFL in interceptions (five) and passes defended (eight) through four games and will likely soar up the odds list at WynnBET when the latest Defensive Player of the Year odds are released following Week 4.

“I feel like I still got work to do,” Diggs said. “I haven’t reached what I wanted to reach and I haven’t accomplished what I wanted to accomplish. So I feel like I’ve still got work to do. Everything is great, but I still got to fight, still got to keep pushing, keep working, so that’s our main focus. But thank you, Dak.”

The Cowboys have transformed their defense this season, and Diggs’ ability to force turnovers is a huge reason why they are 3-1. Dallas gets a chance to improve on that record and pick up a division win in Week 5 against the New York Giants

WynnBET has Dallas opening as a seven-point favorite at home with the total set at 51.0.
