In case you missed Wednesday's cryptic tweet, Dak Prescott is unavailable right now due to a shoulder sprain. He’s been out of practice for a week and is getting a second MRI. The Cowboys say it is precautionary and it is not a setback.

Dallas is being extra careful with Prescott after experiencing what life was like without him. The Cowboys finished 6-10 last season after Prescott finished on the sideline with a broken ankle.

Prior to his injury, Prescott was lighting things up, on pace to throw for nearly 6,000 yards. With a 17th game on the schedule, Prescott would have passed the 6,000-yard mark. While that would be an NFL record, he doesn’t care about setting it.

"I don't want to throw for 6,000 yards to be honest with you," Prescott said. "That means we're not running the ball. That means we're not probably doing the things that we need to do to be a balanced, winning team. Sure, it'd be great to have those numbers and to break that or to have that record or whatever it is. But that's not something I put into my head.”

At this point, the Cowboys don’t want Prescott throwing for 6,000 yards either, especially coming off his shoulder injury. WynnBET has Dallas projected to win the NFC East, with +135 odds. Without Prescott, that doesn’t happen.

Prescott also has the second-best odds at WynnBET to lead the league in passing yards this season (+400).

While Vegas and the Cowboys may tend to disagree about Prescott's usage, the Cowboys and their quarterback appear to be on the same page heading into the season.
