Dak Prescott vs. Patrick Mahomes: Who Will Throw for More Passing Yards in Week 11?
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs square off in a Week 11 matchup that has the makings to be a slugfest. WynnBET Sportsbook even has this contest set with the highest total of the week at 56.5.
Dak Prescott vs. Patrick Mahomes has the makings of a great matchup, but it’s even more interesting this week considering how bad the opposing defenses have played against the pass.
The Cowboys are allowing 270.1 passing yards per game, 23rd in the NFL, and the Chiefs are allowing 269.1 passing yards per game, 22nd in the NFL. Prescott and Mahomes should both have a field day on Sunday.
WynnBET Sportsbook has Prescott's passing yards prop set at 297.5 yards (Over -125/Under -115), and Mahomes’ passing yards prop set at 313.5 yards (Over -125/Under -115).
With both quarterbacks set for a strong performance, who will have more passing yards in Week 11? Prescott or Mahomes?
Let’s take a look at how both quarterbacks have played this season.

The Dallas secondary held Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins to only 184 passing yards in Week 8, but they failed to stop Teddy Bridgwater in a Week 9 loss, allowing him to throw for 248 yards in Week 9. Week 10 was tough to read for this Cowboy defense after the depleted Atlanta Falcons appeared to beat themselves; Matt Ryan completing just nine of 21 passes for 117 yards.
Kansas City’s defense allowed 261 passing yards to Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders last week. The two weeks prior, the Chiefs got to face Daniel Jones of the New York Giants (222 passing yards) and Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers (190 passing yards).
While some believe that Kansas City’s defense is trending in the right direction, that thought may be artificially propped up by weaker competition in recent weeks. Dak Prescott is a whole level above the quarterbacks the Chiefs have had the fortune of facing in the last few games.
Both of these quarterbacks are going to put up decent games this week, but I believe that Kansas City will attempt to establish their running game a little more and Prescott will have more passing yards in Week 11.
