The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be the defending champs, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t coming in with a chip on their shoulder in 2021.

The Bucs are not the favorites to win the Super Bowl in 201, despite returning every starter from last year’s team. WynnBET has the Kansas City Chiefs (+425) as the favorite, while the Bucs have the second-shortest odds at +725.

As long as Tom Brady is leading the way, the Bucs are going to be one of the league’s top teams. However, that doesn’t mean they want to take the approach of being atop the league heading into this season.

“I think for me I’m going to have to be harder; make sure that we stay the hunter and not the hunted,” head coach Bruce Arians said. “We’ve relaxed a lot already this spring. Teams are getting ahead of us right now but I think we can catch up quickly.”

Arians’ sentiment is a strong one, as the Bucs want to come into the season with the desire to prove themselves again to the league. Remember, Tampa Bay was a wild card team last season after the New Orleans Saints won the NFC South.

With Drew Brees retiring, the Saints aren't expected to have the same success in 2021, and that has left the Bucs as massive -220 favorites to win the division in 2021. Tampa Bay also is tied with the San Francisco 49ers for the best odds to score the most points in Week 1 of the NFL season.

The Bucs have a lot of veterans, so there is a hope that the team won’t see massive shifts in production from 2020 to 2021. However, there is no doubt that Arians will be challenging his team to be better at every turn as it begins its title defense.
