The Denver Broncos are looking to finalize their quarterback competition in their second preseason game of the year when they take on the Seattle Seahawks at 10 p.m. EST on Saturday night.

Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater lit the Minnesota Vikings up for 33 points in the opener, and with Bridgewater getting his chance to start in the second game, I think Denver’s offense could have another strong day in the first half.

Seattle, who is coming off a loss in it’s opener, got some huge news this week with the Jamal Adams contract extension. The Broncos have a lot more to learn on offense, but the Seahawks still have some questions defensively that could be answered in this one.

Here’s how the odds look at WynnBET:

Broncos vs. Seahawks Spread, Odds and Over/Under

Spread:

Broncos -5.0 (-110)

Seahawks +5.0 (-110)

Moneyline:

Broncos: -225

Seahawks: +180

Over/Under: 37.5 (Over: -110/Under: -110)

Broncos vs. Seahawks Betting Trends

  • Vic Fangio’s teams are 3-3 against the spread in his preseason career.
  • The Broncos are 1-5 against the over in Vic Fangio’s time as head coach in the preseason.
  • Pete Carroll’s teams are 24-30 against the over in his preseason career.
  • Carroll is one of the best preseason coaches, with his teams going 35-19 against the spread in his career.

Broncos vs. Seahawks Prediction and Pick

The Broncos put on a show offensively in their first game against the Vikings’ backups, but I understand if the -225 juice is too much for bettors in a preseason game.

Still, with the Broncos quarterback competition alive and well, I’m going to take Denver to win this one on the moneyline, but I’m also going to take the under given the history Fangio’s teams have.

If the Broncos head coach is as close to naming a starter as he’s indicated, then we shouldn’t need much of Bridgewater or Lock in this one for that decision to be made.
