1991 Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard is gearing up for another great season on ESPN's College GameDay, and took the time to share some of his thoughts on key storylines heading into the season.

Howard, representing Town House, didn't shy away from bold predictions on the Week 0 edition of GameDay, taking Texas A&M to win the National Championship over the likes of Alabama, Ohio State and Georgia. Howard shared what went into that pick with BetSided below:

"It's easy to pick Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, but that's so damn boring!" Howard said. "Does anybody have the testicular fortitude to think outside the box and pick somebody else for once!"

Howard landed on Texas A&M in part due to the talent assembled in College Station over the past several recruiting classes.

"Jimbo Fisher has been stacking and stacking and stacking top recruiting classes for years. At some point it's going to start paying big dividends for him and the Aggies," the former Super Bowl MVP added.

There wasn't just College Football Playoff talk, though, as Howard spoke about his alma matter, Michigan; coming off their best season in years after making their first College Football Playoff.

The Wolverines don't come without questions in 2022. The team must replace both offensive and defensive coordinators as well as a handful of key contributors on defense, namely No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, Aidan Hutchinson.

When discussing Michigan's Week 1 matchup against Colorado State, which the Wolverines are favored by 30.5 points, Howard notes there are a handful of questions around the team this year that may turn into a rough transition early on.

"If Jim Harbaugh hadn't lost both of his coordinators [defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, who rejoined the Baltimore Ravens, and offensive coordinator Josh Gatis, who took the same job at Miami] I would say 'oh yeah, blowout city' pick a number, but it's going to be a different looking team," Howard told BetSided.

"I don't think people are giving that the proper attention that it deserves. Play-callers aren't easy to come by and it's not an easy job ,so it'll be interesting to see how it looks."
