Detroit Lions fans haven't had a lot to be excited about recently. Things only got worse last year, as the team stumbled to a 5-11 finish that resulted in Matthew Stafford wanting out. Detroit obliged, sending him to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Jared Goff and some future picks.

The Goff-Stafford swap likely ensures that the Lions won't be playing much meaningful football in 2021, forcing fans to focus on the future and rebuilding through the NFL Draft. Local draft-obsessed fans could be in for a treat, as Detroit is rumored to be in the running to host the NFL Draft in the not-too-distant future.

The Motor City is reportedly in contention to host the 2024 NFL Draft. This year's draft is being held in Cleveland, while Las Vegas and Kansas City will hosts the drafts in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Lions fans surely hope their team isn't picking in the top 10 then. But if things are still bad in 2024, hosting the NFL Draft could at least provide some excitement to a fanbase that really needs some.

Things aren't looking too good for the team this year, as WynnBET currently gives the Lions (+15000) the worst Super Bowl odds in the NFL.
