The playoff race in the Pacific Division is tightening around the Las Vegas Knights heading down the home stretch.

Vegas is clinging on to the fourth spot in the division with 87 points. The Los Angeles Kings hold the coveted third spot at 90 points while the Vancouver Canucks are on their heels in fifth with 84 points. The Knights are 2-3 in their last five games and were shut out 4-0 by the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

The Devils on the other hand have been eliminated from the playoff for weeks with the second-worst record in the Metropolitan Division. They are 2-7 in their last nine games and are just going through the motions until the regular season ends.

Here are the odds for tonight’s matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Devils vs. Golden Knights Prediction and Pick

At this juncture, every game is basically a “must-win” game for Vegas. The Golden Knights have six games left to make up four points on the Nashville Predators for the last Wild Card spot in the West. They are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games overall and have been very impressive on offense during that span. They are averaging almost four goals per game in that time and earned an impressive 6-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday.

This bodes well for the Knights as the Devils have one of the worst back ends in hockey. They regularly play in very high-scoring games and tonight should be no different. It just won't be the Devils scoring.

Nico Daws gets the nod for New Jersey and it would be an understatement to say he's been struggling lately. Daws has -7.6 goals saved above average and an unsightly .893 save percentage in 25 appearances.

With so much on the line in this game against such a weak opponent, I would be surprised if the Knights didn't tee off on this weak defense. It's now of never for Vegas.

Pick: Vegas -1.5 (-120)
