Devonta Smith Already Receiving Rave Reviews as Eagles Top Receiver

The early returns on the Eagles' draft day trade to move up for Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith have been positive after he had six catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s Week 1 over the Falcons 32-6.
Smith and former Alabama teammate Jalen Hurts were in sync last Sunday, and will hope to follow it up at home in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Smith’s player props at WynnBET Sportsbook for Sunday include four receptions (over -125/under -105) and 49.5 receiving yards (over -125/under -105).
Is this underselling the No. 10 overall pick? His teammate, Lane Johnson, gave him lofty praise ahead of this weekend's game.

Smith is still +1500 in the Offensive Rookie of the Year market, but with a big showing on Sunday against a likely playoff team, he can see his odds push down towards single digits.
The spot sets up nicely for Smith as well against a banged up 49ers secondary. San Francisco's starting cornerback Jason Verrett suffered a torn ACL last Sunday and fellow starter Emmanuel Mosley has missed practice all week. The 49ers may be thin in the back and Smith is the best receiver to exploit that.
Smith comes in with a ton of accolades from college, but this may the start of a special NFL career. There's a chance we never see Smith's receiving yards prop below 50 again.
