DeVonta Smith vs. Mike Evans: Who Will Have More Receiving Yards?
By Reed Wallach
Super Wild Card Weekend on Sunday starts with the Philadelphia Eagles traveling to face the defending Super Bowl Champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
You can check out our game preview for this Sunday matchup here with the Bucs laying 8.5 points with a total of 46 at WynnBET Sportsbook.
However, this article is going to focus on the player prop market, specifically the two star receivers on each team, Mike Evans and DeVonta Smith.
Receiving Yards Prop Bets
- DeVonta Smith: 44.5 Receiving Yards (Over -115/Under -115)
- Mike Evans: 53.5 Receiving Yards (Over -115/Under -115)
DeVonta Smith
Smith is the Eagles No. 1 receiver, but I question the Eagles game script in this one that may feature a rush heavy script as the team looks to avoid getting into a high scoring affair with the vaunted Bucs offense.
Since Week 10, the Bucs are middle of the pack in terms of rushing success rate, 14th in the league per RBSDM.com. With wind projected in Tampa Bay on Sunday afternoon, there's an opportunity for the Eagles to go with a ground-based attack.
Mike Evans
After being hobbled by a hamstring injury over the past few weeks, Evans looked fantastic against the Panthers in Week 18, catching 6 passes for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
With Chris Godwin out for the season with a knee injury, this is going to be a big Evans game against a leaky Philly secondary that is 26th in defensive pass success rate, per SharpFootballStats. While Evans is the red zone target, I expect him to get his fair share of targets after getting seven in each of his past two games.
We know the Bucs are going to pass a ton, and the big fella should have little issue clearing this total.
